Introduction: Russia, once a powerful component of the erstwhile Soviet Union is now an reemerging economic power in the world after the collapse of the communist regime in the Soviet Union. Russia rich with oil and nuclear weapons recently created a scare among the powerful nations of the Western Europe and the US when it invaded the bordering state of Georgia which also had separated from the Soviet Union. Though it has announced a cease fire with Georgia there are hardly any signs of improvement of relations between the two neighbouring nations. Ganesha tries to find out what is in store for Russia in the coming year.
